Authority to Understand The Holy Quran

Sheikh Nazim Al-Qubrusi Al-Haqqani

Power Oceans of Love

Oh man, you were created weak! Don't try to balance big things within your small mind. Greatness belongs to Allah. One of his Divine Attributes is to be able to do whatever and forever what He asks to do. Everything concerning yourself He has put into the Quran. You must believe that.

What did Muhammad sws. do during 20 years? He was giving explanations about the Holy Quran, because we cannot enter the wisdoms of it. Even now, you may read a hadith and not be able to give its meaning. If you are not authorised, then you should not comment. But in our days everyone has so many books and they bring them and say, "I know about hadith, I can explain them." From where have they been authorised?

In the old days a learned one used to hand on the authorisation to his successor or to his student who would sit infront of him for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 years and then the alim would say, "I am authorising you to speak to people about the hadith and about the Holy Quran." That is why I am ashamed to recite a verse out of the Holy Quran and then to say the meaning. Even if there is such an authority and if in the traditional way I learned from my teacher and he gave me permission 50 years ago. It is written, in the traditional way, "I am giving the authority to address and to talk to people to my student Muhammad Nazim Adil. I am giving that authority to him because my teacher gave that authority to me and my teacher was also authorised by his teacher and he was also authorised by his teacher... this reaches back to the Prophet sws."

If no such authority has been given to you reaching back to the Prophet sws., you will be made responsible whenever you teach the hadith or the Holy Quran. It is a very wrong thing when unauthorised people come and teach, they cannot do that. Allah Almighty is witnessing when we are saying something without authority, and we will carry all the responsibility of the people to whom we teach.

Muhammad sws. explained the Holy Quran in a period of 23 years. During this time millions of hadith came, but now Wahabi people have only made one book with a few hundred hadith and they say that it is all which is acceptable from the Prophet. For 23 years Muhammad sws. was addressing his nation and he knew that it was not only for his companions, it was meant for his future nation, for the Muslims to come through all times.

He did not only sit with his companions, he was always speaking. If you take all the knowledge of all the learned ones it will only be like one spot compared to the ocean of wisdoms of the Prophet sws. How can anyone say that they know anything?

People were coming like rivers to listen to the Prophet sws. were are all these talks? I wonder... They have only put a few hundred hadith and they say that it is all. They accept his Prophethood, but they don't accept his hadith? These ignorant people, some of them even being doctors, are proud and think that they can decide according to their minds which hadith is true and which one isn't.

If you are not sure, then admit that you cannot know if it is a hadith or not, just leave it. But don't cut it away. In our traditional books millions of hadith were written. How is it possible to bring the whole Islamic culture into one book. How is it possible?

That is why our belief is losing its power from day to day and getting weaker and weaker. Then there will be no more power of faith and people will get into miseries and sufferings and neverending problems. There will not be enough power in our faith to bring the solutions to the Muslims. That is why the Muslim world is boiling like a pot. And here and there the enemies of Islam are making everything against Islam and the Muslim world cannot do anything.

I heard that many thousands of Muslims here in Sri Lanka were sent away from their homes. Where is the Islamic world? They are fighting and quarrelling with each other. Why is all this happening? Because our faith is getting less. Allah Almighty has ordered us to be together, but we are separated. There is no value.

It is a pity for us. We are even fighting Islam within ourselves. Not only our enemies from the outside, no! Foolish Muslims even fight inside.

Talk of Hajji Amina Adil (Hajjah Ane)

October 19th 2004 in their house

You should encourage children at the age of 7 to pray. By showing love to them, by encouraging them, giving them presents you should make them get used to praying. So that they can get used to it. But at the age of 10 you order them to pray. If they don’t listen, you may slap them by a hand. At the age of 15 a child has his Book written for him: his good deeds and his bad deeds. So at the age of 15 it becomes obligatory for them to pray. At the age of 20 a person reaches his maturity: knows where is right and where is wrong. A mind reaches maturity at the age of 20. So if for example he/she inherits money, you can give it to him at this age, you can ask his witnesses. At this age he has a right to control himself and decide for himself. At the age of 28 the brain is fully grown. At the age of 30 the body is fully grown. It reaches big power. At the age of 30 he reaches completion. Once a person reaches the age of 40 he is safe from 3 illnesses: 1. Leprosy; 2. White spots of the skin(???); 3. Madness. So these 3 illnesses cannot come to a person after the age of 40. And if you reach the age of 50, you become a representative. A person becomes more complete and more in love with Allah. At the age of 60 Allah shows His angels His servant who’s been worshipping Allah until the age of 60. Allah says: "This is my servant. This is my Servant"; and angles make Du’a for this servant of Allah. At the age of 70 Allah gives a second stage of being a representative. So at this stage Allah loves His servant and his servant loves Allah. At the age of 80 The Pen is not writing bad deeds for this person anymore. At this age The Pen is writing only good deeds; no bad deeds are written. Allah is changing (transforming) bad deeds into good deeds. If a person reaches the age of 90 he becomes like Allah’s prisoner on Earth. At this age he can give intercession for 70 people, to take them to Paradise (even if they are supposed to go to hell). And if a person reaches the age of 100, at this age he becomes the beloved of Allah. And that is the meaning of best among you and the ones who have longest lives and best deeds……..

People do not give value to elderly ones. Thinking: "Oh, he became old now", and not paying any attention at them. But if there is one old person living on one street, Mercy comes upon 40 houses in that street, for the honour of that old person: for 10 houses in front, 10 – behind, 10 – on the right, 10 – on the left! …..

Rain comes down only for three (groups): 1. For the sake of young people, who are praying and keeping Allah’s orders. 2. For old people who are so weak: cannot make Ruku or Sudjud (prostration), but still are keeping their prayers. 3. For babies who are still being nursed. So it’s for the honour and for the sake of these three (groups) that Allah makes sky to rain because rain is a blessing. And if not for the honour of these three (groups), Earth would become solid and sky would become iron, and no rain would be coming down and no plants would be growing. And also for the sake of animals that cannot talk, or ask for anything, Allah is giving them provision: for them and for human beings with them.

Mothers have so much mercy and tenderness towards their children. But all that mercy, love and tenderness of them towards their children is only one single drop from Allah’s Mercy and Love, given to mothers’ hearts.

One person told one boy: "Bring me your mother’s heart and I’m going to give you so much money!" So that boy went to his mother, cut her, took her heart, and was bringing it to that man to get the money. On his way to that man he fell down, so that the heart fell out of his hands. The heart was saying to him: "Oh, my son, are you all right? Did you not hurt yourself?" Even after he cut his mother’s heart and took it, the mother’s heart still worried about her son. So he picks up a knife and wants to kill himself. Then he hears, again the heart is saying: "Oh, my son, you’ve hurt me once, don’t hurt me twice!" He regretted what he had done but it was too late…. This story shows how much mothers care for their children and worry about them and how much love they have towards their children.

Some people complain, saying: "My mother has no mercy on me" but it’s a lie. Mother can’t have no mercy. All mothers have mercy because it is given to their hearts by Allah. And not only human beings mothers but also animals mothers: all mothers of the world: human being and animals have mercy on their children. If for example a dog attacks a kitten, mother-cat immediately runs to a dog, putting itself in front, and not saying: "I better hide, so that a dog doesn’t attack me as well". If a son or a daughter is in the fire, a mother immediately jumps into the fire so that to get her son or daughter out. She doesn’t think: "Oh, I’m going to get burned"….

One Imam was saying: "At this time it’s better to breed dogs and not to have your own children, because there is no use (goodness) in them". So one day he found one man lying in the mud. So he carried him. That man asked: "Are you the Imam so-and-so?" "Yes". So that man grabbed him and took him: "My parents are in this grave, so please pray for them!" And he didn’t let that Imam go away, until the Imam read Ya-Sin, Fatiha for that man’s parents, and after that only he let him go. That man fell in the mud because he was drunk. So that Imam who didn’t want to get married and to have any children, because he thought: "At this time it’s better to breed dogs and not to have your own children", after he saw this he went and asked: "Is there anybody who can give me his daughter so that I get married and have children who’d pray for me after I die? Because even if this drunk man is so worried about his parents and wants me to read prayers for his parents even in his drunk condition, and as for me, I have nobody to care for me after I die or read prayers for me…" So after that he got married and understood that to have a son is better than to have a dog.

Even if that person was drunk, he still brings benefits to his parents. So what if you have a good son or a good daughter? If you have a son or a daughter who are good ones, pious ones, - whatever good deeds they do, they take benefits (Sawab) from it, and parents also take benefits from their child. For every Rakaat a child is praying, parents get as much Sawab (benefit) from it, as their child does! For every Hajj, or any other spiritual good activity – for everything! And whoever has a good son or a good daughter, his/her Book of Deeds is never closed. Because when a person dies, his Book is closed, but if you leave a good son or a daughter, your Book is not closed.

There was one Imam, who whenever he passed by graveyards, would sit down, read Ya-Sin, and then continue his way to the mosque. One day, while reading Ya-Sin, he fell asleep. While he was in this state (sleeping) he saw dead people would come out of their graves, picking up things from the ground and returning back to their graves. He wanted to ask them about it, but could not, because they all were in such a hurry, rushing to collect things from the ground and quickly go back to their graves. But he found one man sitting in a chair and not collecting anything. All this was in his dream. He came up to that man in a chair and gave him salams (greeted him). So he asked that man: "Who are these people who are running around and collecting things?" He answered: "These are the people of the graves". He said: "Whoever is making Dua for Ummat Muhammad, or Ahlul Qubur or reading Fatiha or making Dua, brings Barakat to them. This Barakat (blessings) are going to all the people of graves come out to pick it up (their share) and go back. "So why don’t you join them to collect your share?" That man answered: "I’m rich, I don’t need to collect things like them". "How come you are so rich?" He said: "I have a son, who is a Hafiz (memorised whole Qur’an), and every day, from morning till evening he reads the whole Qur’an for me, and from evening till morning he reads it one more time for me". While that man was saying that, the Imam saw one tray all covered with light, coming to that man and being offered to him. And that man said: "See, my share came to me". The Imam asked: "Where is your son?" He gave him the address of his son, explaining that he lives in such and such place and he sells chickpeas.

So he woke up from his sleep and went to the mosque to pray. After the prayer he didn’t go back home but went to see that man’s son to the place he was told about in a dream. So eventually he found that very place exactly like was described in his dream, he found that son, who was standing and selling chickpeas, but he wasn’t talking to anybody. He was reciting, constantly reciting, while selling chickpeas. So the Imam didn’t speak to him, he was just standing, watching him for a long time, and that man, who was selling chickpeas saw him and asked him: "What do you need, my uncle?" Then the Imam asks him: "Your name is such and such? (Ahmed, Mehmet, whatever..)". "Yes" - he answered. "Do you have a father who passed away?" "Yes". "Is he buried in such and such a place?" "Yes" – he replied. "Are you a Hafiz (the one who knows whole Qur’an by heart)? And every morning and every evening you are sending your father recitation of the whole Qur’an (Khatm ul Qur’an) as a present?" He said: "Yes". Then Imam told him that he had seen his father sitting on a chair and being offered a tray full of light and so on. He described him his dream and what he saw. So the son was very happy. And Imam went away. And he continued as usual: every time his passed by a graveyard he would sit down and recite Ya-Sin. Again one more time he put his head down and he fell asleep. And he saw the same dream: everybody was coming out of their graves and picking up things from the ground. But this time that man who was in previous dream sitting on a chair and not collecting anything, this time was collecting things with everybody and crying. So the Imam asked: "What happened to you? Why are you collecting things like others now?" He answered: "My son died. He passed away last night, and now I’m in need of Muslims’ Dua". So the Imam got up and after the Fajr (morning) prayer in the mosque he went to that shop to see that young man. But the shop was closed. So he asked neighbours: "Where is that man, your neighbour, the owner of this shop?" They said: "He died last night". Then he realised that hid dream was a real one…..

The Imam of the Tariqat, Shah Baha'uddin Naqshband

In this constellation, we come finally to Muhammad Bahauddan Uways al-Bukhari, known as Shah Naqshband, the Imam of the Naqshbandi Tariqat without peer. He was born in the year 1317 C.E. in the village of Qasr al-carifan, near Bukhara. After he mastered the sharicah sciences at the tender age of 18, he kept company with the Shaikh Muhammad Baba as-Samasi, who was an authority in hadith in Central Asia. After the latter's death, he followed Shaikh Amir Kulal who continued and perfected his training in the external and the internal knowledge.

The students of Shaikh Amir Kulal used to make dhikr aloud when sitting together in association, and silent dhikr when alone. Shah Naqshband, however, although he never criticized nor objected to the loud dhikr, preferred the silent dhikr. Concerning this he says, "There are two methods of dhikr; one is silent and one is loud. I chose the silent one because it is stronger and therefore more preferable." The silent dhikr thus became the distinguishing feature of the Naqshbandiyya among other tariqats.

Shah Naqshband performed Hajj (Pilgrimage) three times, after which he resided in Merv and Bukhara. Towards the end of his life he went back to settle in his native city of Qasr al-cArifan. His teachings became quoted everywhere and his name was on every tongue. Visitors from far and wide came to see him and to seek his advice. They received teaching in his school and mosque, a complex which at one time accommodated more than five thousand people. This school is the largest Islamic center of learning in Central Asia and still exists in our day. It was recently renovated and reopened after surviving seventy years of Communist rule.

Shah Naqshband's teachings changed the hearts of seekers from darkness to light. He continued to teach his students the knowledge of the Oneness of God in which his precedessors had specialized, emphasizing the realization of the state of ihsan (excellence) for his followers according to the hadith of the Prophet (s), "Ihsan is to worship God as if you see Him."

When Shah Naqshband died he was buried in his garden as he requested. The succeeding Kings of Bukhara took care of his school and mosque, expanding them and increasing their religious endowments (awqaf).

Succeeding shaikhs of the Naqshbandi Tariqat wrote many biographies of Shah Naqshband. Among them are Mascud al-Bukhari and Sharif al-Jarjani, who composed the Awrad Baha'uddan which describes him and his life's works including his fatawa (legal decisions). Shaikh Muhammad Parsa, who died in Madina in 822 H. (1419 C.E.) wrote Risala Qudsiyya in which he talks of Shah Naqshband's life, his virtues, and his teachings.

Shah Naqshband's literary legacy included many books. Among them are Awrad an-Naqshbandiyyah, the Devotions of Shah Naqshband. Another book is Tanbih al-Ghafilin. A third book is Maslakul Anwar. A fourth is Hadiyyatu-s-Salikan wa Tuhfat at-Talibin. He left many noble expressions praising the Prophet (s) and he wrote many legal rulings. One of his opinions was that all the different acts and kinds of worship, whether obligatory or voluntary, were permitted for the seeker in order to reach reality. Prayer, fasting, zakat (paying the poor-tax), mujahadat (striving) and zuhd (self-denial) were emphasized as ways to reach Allah Almighty.

Shah Naqshband built his school on the renewal of the teachings of the Islamic religion. He insisted on the necessity of keeping the Qur'an and the teachings of the Sunnah. When they asked him, "What are the requirements of one who follows your way?" he said, "To follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (s)." He continued saying: "Our way is a rare one. It keeps the cUrwat ul-Wuthqa, the Unbreakable Bond, and it asks nothing else of its followers but to take hold of the Pure Sunnah of the Prophet (s) and follow the way of the Sahaba (Companions of the Prophet (s)) in their ijtihad (efforts for Allah).

"The Naqshbandi School is the easiest and simplest way for the student to understand tawhid. It urges its followers to seek a state of complete worship of Allah both publicly and privately by keeping the complete code of conduct of the Prophetic Sunnah. It encourages people to keep to the strictest modes of worship (cazima) and to abandon exemptions (rukhsa). It is also free from all innovations and deviations. It does not demand of its followers perpetual hunger or wakefulness. That is how the Naqshbandiyya has managed to remain free from the excesses of the ignorant and the charlatans (mushacwazan). In sum we say that our way is the mother of all tariqats and the guardian of all spiritual trusts. It is the safest, wisest, and clearest way. It is the purest drinking-station, the most distilled essence. The Naqshbandiyya is innocent from any attack because it keeps the sunnah of the beloved Prophet (s)."

We are presenting to the general public, by order of our Sheikh, Sheikh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani, fortieth in that Golden Chain of the Naqshbandi Masters, an all-too-brief book filled with the light of these Pure Masters, their aphorisms, their teachings, their way of life, and their examplary saintliness. We hope that it will bring the reader a taste of the lives of these Shaikhs, who light our way to the knowledge of Reality and Truth, to the Love of the Beloved Prophet (s), and to the ultimate goal of all, which is to reach the Divine Presence of our Creator.

"My work is to weep at night in remembering my Beloved;
my sleep is to remain absorbed in thoughts of my Beloved."
"In vain do eyes stay awake if not to behold You.
In vain do tears flow for another than You."
"The lovers die at every moment,
for their dying is not of one kind.
The lover has received two hundred spirits
from the Spirit of Guidance,
and he sacrifices them all at every instant.
For every spirit he receives ten in return

--read the Qur'an: Ten the like of it [6:160]."

The time of Nemrut (Nimrod) is coming to an end

Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil Al Haqqani q

Shabaan 1, 1426
Monday September 5, 2005

Everyone is aiming to be first one. No one wants to be 2nd one. This is our characteristic. No one is happy to be 2nd one. Everyone is aiming to be chairman, everywhere. In our days, so many people in the army like to be 1st one, not liking to be under the command of a civil government. They want to be first ones. Everyone wants to be the power center, so that everyone else says to him: Yes Sir! and kiss his hands, feets and boots! and so that they may put their soles over peoples' heads and say that you are my servants! That is Shaitan's way, along which 100s of people are killed in order to make all others under their command. Everyone wants to be a tyrant and no one saying to him: No!

If mankind not happy if someone saying No, how should the Lord of Heavens be, if Shaitan says to Him No, I will not bow! But Allah All Mighty is Patient. A creature by Allah saying No, I am not bowing?! That is such a big and ugly deed beyond all measures. Allah replied to that: You are a demon, go out! This is a characteristic of Shaitan, and it is present in mankind through their ego, which has the same structure. Everyone carrying that worst ego characteristic, the first thing that they'll do when granted a chance is to step on people's heads, and will say: I am your Lord. Just like Pharaoh said: "I am your highest Lord, be my obedient slaves"

As my Grand Shaikh always says: "Why is Mohammed, peace be upon him, the most praised and glorified one in Divinely Presence? Because he was the most humble one among all creatures." He was always sitting as a servant would sit in front of his master or owner, and always eating as a servant or worker would eat in the presence of his owner or master. He never sat on tables.. Therefore no one reached his rank in Divinely Presence, no one was honored and glorified in divinely presence as much as the Seal of Prophets, peace be upon him. Therefore Allah Almighty salutes him by saying: "As Salamu Alaika Ayyuha An Nabiyu, Peace be upon you, Oh Prophet."

He Almighty doesn't say, Peace be upon you, Oh Mohammad. No, He says: Peace be upon you Oh Prophet. We are repeating Allah's greeting to the Prophet five times in our daily prayers, during the tashahhud. This divinely glorifying is not granted to anyone else. It is the highest point of glorifying from the Lord of Heavens to His Prophet. He reached the top point who no one else reached due to his humbleness. Therefore he represents his Lord's Glory through all creation. The Prophet's ego is just finished and surrendered, not like your egos. No more rebellion, saying No, No.. No, he is the most humble one in divinely presence.

Oh people searching for honor in divinely presence, try to be more humble. But today, Shaitan is teaching people how to be the first ones. He is teaching people how to have the ego of Nimrod. Therefore everyone today is asking to represent Nimrod, not to represent the Seal of Prophets, Sayyiduna Muhammad, peace be upon him. That the case, how can they ever be happy? They will only be fighting one
another. The real honor is achieved by trying to be humble as much as possible. That way you will rise up and up. But as long as you are saying: I , I , I am president, I am prime minister, I am General, I am Lieutenant... Shaitan will be dressing you with Nimrod's characteristics.

Today a handful of people are putting everyone else under their feet, in Europe, Africa, Arabia, America, Asia, everywhere. But this is over. There are so many signs now, and people are going to say to those wild animals: Enough! We must break those tyrants, cut them to pieces and bring them under our feet.

Now there is summer and the winter just passed away. The rule of winter just finished, and the summer is taking power in his hands. The summer is saying to the winter: everything is under my rule now, I am defeating your rule... Now the rule of tyrants has finished. Since 1789 until now it was their season. Now it is the time when they will give back what they took from the people, and people will put them under their soles, assisted by heavenly support! No army or rank will save those tyrants...

May Allah never leave us to our dirty ego characteristics, and may He send us blessed servants to save us from such evil. May He send snakes on the heads of tyrants to swallow them. The flags of Islam must rise and the flags of Shaitan must come under the feet.

These are not my words, it is heavenly speech. I don't know what I am speaking, but they are broadcasting through me from this humble place to the whole world. It is up to you to listen.

al-Fatiha.

Shayk Muhammad Nazim Adil Al-Haqqani An-Naqshnabdi

By Shaykh Hisham Muhammad Kabbani, MD

"Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani is the world leader of the most distinguished Naqshbandi order of Sufis (tariqah an-Naqshbandiyya-t-il-'awliya). Shaykh Nazim is both a scholar of the Divine Law (shari'ah), being the mufti of Turkish Cyprus, as well as the Shaykh of the Way (tariqah).

A resident of Turkish Cyprus, he was born in Larnaca, Cyprus on April 23, 1922 (12th Rabi'ul Awwal, 1341 AH). He is a descendant of the family of the Prophet Muhammad (saws) on both his mother and his father's side, being both a Hasani and Husayni Sayyid. On his father's side, he is a descendant of Sayyid 'Abdul Qadir Gilani, the founder of the Qadiri Sufi order and on his mother's side, his ancestry comes from Jalal al-Din Rumi, the founder of the Mawlawi Sufi order.

Shaykh Nazim finished high school in Cyprus 1940 CE/1359 AH. He then traveled to Istanbul for higher education. He studied at the University of Istanbul, completing an MA in Chemical Engineering. During his years in Istanbul, he also completed the requirements of the Divine Law and Arabic language. He received his "permission" ('ijaza) from Shaykh Jamal al-Lassuni (d. 1955 CE / 1375 AH). Shaykh Nazim then directed his attention to the study of the spiritual path of seven Sufi orders: Naqshbandi, Chishti, Qadiri, Mawlawi, Rifa'i, Shadhili and Badawi. He then increased his study of the Naqshbandi order under his shaykh at that time, Sulayman Arzurumi (d. 1938 CE / 1368 AH). After a few years, Shaykh Sulayman told him, "O my son, the one who is carrying your secrets is not me, but my spiritual teacher who migrated from Daghistan to Turkey and who is now residing in Damascus in the Midan district (sa'ahat il-Midan). He is known as the Master of the Golden Chain of the Naqshbandi order in our time."

Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani then moved to Syria. On the way to Damascus, he first visited Aleppo, Hama and Homs. In Homs, under the direction of his Shaykh, he stayed for one year in seclusion in the mosque and tomb of the famous Companion of the Prophet (saws), Khalid ibn Walid. There he received more intensive instruction in the Divine Law, the Traditions (ahadith), and the Science of the Qur'an (ilm al-Qur'an) under the Shaykhs Muhammad 'Ali 'Uyun as-Su'ud, 'Abdul 'Aziz 'Uyun as-Su'ud, mufti of Homs, Abdul Jalil Murad and Sayyid as-Suba'i, who are all Naqshbandi shaykhs as well as famous scholars of the Traditions (muhaddithun) and religious scholars ('ulama) of the Divine Law (shari'ah).

In 1944 CE / 1364 AH, he moved to Tripoli, Lebanon, where he was the guest of Shaykh Munir al-Malik, the mufti of northern Lebanon and Shaykh of the Qadiri, Rifa'i' and Naqshbandi Sufi orders. In 1945 CE / 1365 AH, he went from Tripoli to Damascus to Ha'i al-Midan where he finally met Shaykh 'Abdullah ad-Daghistani an-Naqshbandi. He stayed with his Grand Shaykh until his Grand Shaykh passed away on October 4, 1973 (4th of Ramadan, 1398 AH). During that period of almost forty years, Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani (may God bless him) continued to receive the heavenly fountain of spiritual knowledge which poured forth from the heart of Shaykh 'Abdullah ad-Daghistani (may God sanctify his soul) into his heart.

Shaykh Nazim continuously traveled to the Middle East and Turkey during these 40 years. Upon the death of his Grand Shaykh and by his spiritual order, he enlarged his scope of travel to include Europe, America and the Far East. He established hundreds of centers all over the world, spreading Islam together with Sufi spiritual knowledge which has brought hundreds of thousands of converts to Islam. It would not be an exaggeration to say that he is the mujaddid of this century as was Sayyid 'Abdul Qadir Gilani, in his time; Shah Bahauddin Naqshband, in his time; Sayyid Ahmad al-Fa'ruqi, in his time; and Jalal al-Din Rumi, in his time.

Shaykh Nazim carries the secret of seven Sufi orders: Naqshbandi, Chishti, Qadiri, Mawlawi, Rifa'i, Shadhili and Badawi, through a chain of authorization from his master, Shaykh 'Abdullah ad-Daghistani, through the chain of 39 Grand Shaykhs linking him to the Prophet l (saws).

He has entered many seclusions during his lifetime ranging in duration from 40 days to one year. These took place in many different places including the Prophet's city, Madinah, Baghdad in the presence of Sayyid 'Abdul Qadir Gilani, Konya in the presence of Jalal al-Din Rumi and Damascus at many holy places. He has written numerous books on spirituality and Divine Knowledge (gnosis, ma'rifah) which have been published throughout the world. He has written many poems on Divine Love ('ishq) in both Arabic and Turkish. He is a source (marja') for many modern juristic matters. He follows a moderate line in approaching people and issues of contemporary life.

Shaykh Nazim has a very charismatic personality which moves people and attracts them to the manifestation of Divine Love which continues to pour forth from his heart. His resplendent smile is ever present. when he speaks, it is as if a Divinely-inspired waterfall had been opened connecting his heart to the hearts of the listeners. It is that nectar of love that draws thousands of new converts to Islam every year."

Heavenly discipline

Maulana Sheikh Nazim
Sunday, 30th October, 2005

Who is not keeping a heavenly discipline, becomes the servant of Shaitan!

It is an association. We are not claiming something for ourselves, but all Sheikhs or all Grandsheikhs, all Saints just, if you are asking (to find one), you can find them through (the) cemetery…

Now through East and West (Awliyas)- can’t be this world without Awliyas, but they are hiding themselves- (are) hidden. And we are only imitated ones, sitting here, or there or there…to keep (the) Sunnatu Rasul, the ways of (the) Prophets and particularly (the way of) the Seal of Prophets Sayyidina Muhammad – sallaLLahu 'alayhi wa sallam. That is my mission, that I have been ordered through my Grandsheikh to be with people. And hundreds and thousands (of) Awliyas can’t be able to carry (the) burden of people; therefore they run away, they can’t be with ourselves. And that is my Grandsheikhs order, according to (the) holy Order of Heavens through Sayyidina Muhammad – sallaLLahu 'alayhi wa sallam - (that) time by time I am sitting and trying to address to you. And mostly - “What you are doing, o Sheikh!” - mostly I am swearing. Sometimes I am… (sitting nicely), (but) mostly I am swearing, because if (I am) not swearing, I can’t carry also. So dirty (is the) atmosphere now through East and West! Only when I am swearing, (I am) getting… recharging…

Today is Sunday, you are coming - sometimes I must swear to you also, because (you are) never understanding… and we are sitting as Prophets they were sitting with their people, as (the) Sahaba Kiram, (the) Companions of the Seal of Prophets, they were sitting and advising people, (and also) as (the) disciples of Jesus Christ were sitting and speaking and trying to correct people…

Tauba, Astaghfirullah- (a) pig, you know pig? Its tail (is) like this…(curled). One person was (once) trying to make it straight. 4o days binding (its tail), saying: “4o days it is enough to be straight”, and (after that he was) opening (it) and (only finding it) quickly coming back…

Now people, as much as you - including myself - (are) making this (trying to correct people)…, but (it is) so (useless)…finally they are finding them (curled)…People (are) following their egos’ desires. People (are) running after that only, nothing else. Running!

This is (a) holy month, perhaps (the) holiest month, Ramadan - fasting month. Fasting, it is (a) most powerful training on the personality of people, to correct them. Therefore fasting is (a) most important praying, as well as servanthood for Allah Almighty. And this fasting from beginning up today it is a holy Command from Allah Almighty to every nation, to every Ummah. They were fasting, beginning from Sayyidina Adam, 'alayhi salam: When he was eating from (that) forbidden fruit, from that forbidden tree in Paradise and (after Allah Almighty was) sending (him) away, he fasted 30 days, without eating or drinking, without breaking his fast, no! 30 days. Why? (Because) through 30 days that forbidden fruit just (was) leaving his body and no anything from that (was left) through his physical body. Finished, clean. He was clean. (In) 30 days!

And Subhanallah, Glory to the Lord of Heavens, every forbidden thing that people (are) eating, (is) harming their physical being as well as their spirituality. Destroying (it)! Forbidden things (are) destroying (our) spirituality. People (are) coming and asking (me): “O Sheikh!” “What news?” “Do you think that we can follow your spiritual way without coming to Islam?” I am asking: “What do you mean, without Islam?” Because Islam is a combined through (made up of) some orders to do and some orders not to be done. Something you must do, something you must not do, don’t do. (And they are) asking me if “We can follow the ways of Heavens without becoming Islam?” I am saying: “As you like. You may sit on a high place and make like this (up and down with your arms)… and you may say: “I am flying, I am flying, I am flying…”, but you are sitting on tree, you are not flying! If you like to be such a person - it is okay, I may say to you: ‘Come, I may teach you something.’ And finally you must try, you must throw yourself…” ”I am trying (that) and (I am) coming (falling) down”…

That means: everyone (is) asking to do or to follow or to reach heavenly positions through spiritual stages or spiritual stations, but asking to do (it in) his way, as he likes. It is impossible! You must keep orders, (and) you must keep forbidden things. You must take care for orders, and you must take care for leaving forbidden things. If not, it is imagination - as I say: you are (like that person) sitting on (a) hill and saying: “I am flying…” As you like!…

One person, such a…on that foolish way, was saying: “O Sheikh, I am that one…” “Who are you?” “I am that one that every night I am through my Lords divinely presence and speaking to Him and He speaks to me. I reached such a high level that I am… every night I have a meeting with my Lord.” Sheikh saying: “It is very important. That means you are very important. It means you are heavenly VIP person”- not from earth VIP, on Heavens. Heavenly VIP… “Please look, o person, o important one! You must tonight take this knife and when you are meeting with your Lord, you cut a piece of his ear and bring (it) to me.” “(This) can be?” “(You are) not looking (seeing him) and touching him?” “Yes, touching him also and looking…sometimes I am making like this…(hugging).”

That night that Murid - ‘heavenly VIP’, imitated - (was) finishing (his meeting with his ‘lord’) and then with that knife (he was) cutting (a piece of his ear) and putting (it) in a cloth and bringing. He came to the presence of his master: “Yes Sir, I did what you said to me.” “Where it is? Open!” Opening and finding - ear of donkey!…Shaitan was making (fooling) him… every night bringing him (to the stable) and putting (him)…there was a place that (they were) putting in it straw and animals (were) coming and eating from there…Shaitan (was) making him… bringing him there, and in front of him (a) donkey, saying: “This is your Lord, speak to him, look!”…and then…old donkey (also), his lips (hanging) down…making him also (licking him)..and embracing him: “Ohhh my Lord!”…up to morning!…(And) also (he) cut its ear!…

Shaitan (is) making people…, making comic things for that person. He was also (a) no mind person, coming and saying: “I am every night on Arsh, on (the) Throne of my Lord, sitting and making association, and we are very happy and coming, making like this also”…(embracing and licking)…Old donkey also that can’t bring his lip up…

Shaitan joking - more than joking! - with people; so many people that they are claiming: “We are Sheikhs” or: “We are spiritual leaders”…Come here! I may say to him! I may put (him) to (the) stable to find there, what they are doing…

Everything must have a discipline! If no discipline, you are with Shaitan! Therefore, discipline you cannot put on yourself. Discipline (means) heavenly discipline! Who (is) asking ways to Heavens, must keep heavenly discipline, not anything else. You understand? This may be through East and West - anyone can’t
object on that point! If you can do. Therefore, first discipline - that you can reach step by step (to a full discipline) - begins by fasting, (and) therefore fasting was (the) holy Command of Allah Almighty for all nations, for all Prophets, for every Holy Book. Sharia, heavenly commands, (is saying): Must fast everyone! You can’t reach a real discipline in servanthood without fasting, no! You should do as you like and you should say: “I reached” - (but you are only) reaching that stable and (you are) sitting with (a) donkey… May Allah forgive us!

Now that is - we reached the end of holy Ramadan; two days more, may be three days more, (and) finishing. Who tried to fast and intending for the sake of Allah Almighty and keeping His Honour, who fasted, they reached a heavenly level that they never reached before. Whom they are not taking care, they are… yet (he) should be through (the) stable and so many old donkeys around himself… he may enjoy himself here, but (in the) Hereafter it is (going to be) difficult (for him)…

Young people - keep (the) discipline of Heavens, (the) holy Commands of your Lord! Don’t give any chance for your ego! If (you are) giving, you must carry that one on your shoulders and your name (is) quickly going to be taken away from the list of servants of Lord and coming and written on another list that (on it are the) names of Shaitans’ servants. Servanthood (is) either for Allah Almighty or servanthood for Shaitan. Look (after) yourself! May Allah forgive me…

We must try. We must try! We must learn and try and we must try to practice! I am not saying that you can do this with one step, no, but you must try to correct your steps. Towards which direction you are stepping? For the servanthood of your Lord you are living or you are living for the servanthood of Shaitan? You must look and try to change your way. If you are on (the) wrong way, you must try to come to (the) true, way, (the) right way. But so many hindrances (our) ego (is) putting, Shaitan (is) putting, not to leave their ways and not to come to (the) true way. But we must try! We must fight! We must not surrender to Shaitan, we must try to surrender to our Lord Allah Almighty!

O our Lord, ya Rabbi, make it easy for us to be Your servants, (to be) ’muhlis’, trustworthy servants! Ya Rabbi, ya Allah, send us from Your chosen servants that You dressed them from Your Greatness and Power, to change our ways from (the) bad way, from (the) ways of Hells, to come to Your divine Presence, that way (the right way)!

For the honour of the most honoured one in Your divinely Presence, Sayyidina Muhammad – sallaLLahu 'alayhi wa sallam, Fatiha.

A Heavenly Warning

We are in (a) holy month, perhaps next week (already it is) going to finish. Going, coming. If coming, must go. Who not coming, not going. Who (is) coming today, tomorrow must go. Ramadan (was) coming- (so it)must go (also). If we are not going, (there is) no room for others. We like to be our parents with ourselves, but after a while (also) we are saying: "When they are going?". Even Kings or Queens. Their crown-prince likes to be his father and mother, royal family, to be King and Queen, but he is asking also: "When my Majesty Father (is) going?" We understand just he reached also silver jubilee, golden jubilee, asking to be diamond jubilee!"No meaning (to become King) after (I am) reaching old age. I must be on (the) throne, when I am young. When I am getting older, getting old, they should say: 'Old King'. But young King is something else. Young King, everyone may run after me, but now I am an old King, no one (is) running after me!And I can't eat everything, I am going to be on diet- no meaning, when I am going to be old King, (that) everything (is going) to be (like in my) young time"?

We have a word in Turkish language: 'genc', meaning 'young', and genc really (comes) from (the) Persian word 'kanz'= hasine, treasure; and our lives' most valuable period (is) when we are young ones. After that (we are) going to come down, slowly, slowly coming down. We are thinking that we should be always young ones- youngsters (are) thinking in such a way-, but suddenly they find themselves in old age. And mostly (now) young people (also are) passing away quickly, because technology is killing (them). (It is) not like before. (There are) so many reasons for dying youngsters 'for the honour' of technology- but no honour for technology! Technology is really cursed on Heavens, because (it is) making people to get away from nature. Technology (is) imprisoning people in its material cells. Now man can't get out from these material cells; everyone has a special cell, (everyone is) surrounded by technology and technology (is) preventing man to reach to their nature that we have been created from earth, but technology (is) preventing that and asking to make a new atmosphere for mankind to live in it and it is all out of humanity!

Now every trouble that you are looking and witnessing through East and West, from North to South, all troubles' main sources is from technology. Technology (is) making people or trying to make all people as robots: 'Eat, drink and ride on that one'- nothing else! Like hen, like birds. Technology (is) trying to bring artificial turkeys, artificial hens, artificial chicken, artificial cows- and everything that is artificial is against (the) heavenly Rules of the Lord of Heavens, and all troubles (are) coming after that involvement of man! Coming of Heavens, but the representatives of Sadanas (are) making everything for the sake of Sadanas, even making man not to say: "O our Lord!", saying: "It is forbidden! You must not say that everything is under heavenly Control. You can't say this!"

Now everywhere there are earthquakes. If a person (is) coming and saying: "O people, it is from the Lord of Heavens", they may call you to court! Sadanas (is) ordering: "Look that person! Don't leave him to repeat that word once again! Take him away, punish him! You must say (that) it is from nature: underground (there are) running rivers of fire and making some ways, burning, burning, and pipeline! Like mine-companies going underground, taking out mines, now underground there is fire, running around, burning, then it is going to be big holes and then sometimes that pipelines are running after a big city and when running, making that earthquake"!
I am saying: "It is not a true description! You must say: (There is) someone on (a) horse running after that pipeline and when (he is) angry, making his horse hitting, and then this (horse is) making up and down, (and) then this earthquake (is) coming"! "O Sheikh, something wrong with you?" "No, I am much more closer than people to understand from that pipeline! (Because) you say: 'fire not burning without oxygen'.

Underground- where is oxygen? (A) volcano (is) coming (breaking) out, (and) fire (is) coming. You say: 'oxygen must be for fire', but this fire, how (it is) coming underground?" (It is) all theories! They say (that) this is real knowledge, but I say: "You are real ignorant ones, trying to cover Haqiqat, reality! You don't like that people know something about the reality of Heavens! You are liars! You are representatives of Sadanas!" And every time you come - some people come- and say to me: "(A) scientist, 'bilim adami', (is) saying like this, like that." Scientists saying! If we are saying: 'A Prophet (is) saying', (they are) not giving value, but if we say '(a) scientist said this', (they say) "Ohhh!" Therefore- Allah Almighty, the Lord of Heavens, (is saying in the Holy Qur'an): "!wa karna fi buyutikum wa la tabarrajna tabarrajan jahiliyatan 'ula." Allah Almighty is saying (that) just the time of the Seal of Prophets sws (it) was the time of the darkness of ignorance, and (that there was) coming from Heavens a new light for (en)lightening people for understanding about themselves, about their life, about their world, about Heavens, and that light came and slowly, slowly, slowly (it was) coming (down again)! And the Holy Qur'an was saying (that) the women of the time of the Prophet were decorating and beautifying themselves, making themselves (up) in such a way that men may run after them. (At) the time of ignorance women were taking much more (of) such things (like make-up etc) to be seen that they are beautiful, and Allah prevented believers (from this, saying) that women must not show their beauty to anyone else (except) their husbands and relatives. The word that Allah Almighty used there, 'Jahiliyatan ula', first ignorance, (was) signing that (there was) coming another time of ignorance, 'jahiliyatan thani', and it should be when (the) Last Days (are) approaching; (then it is) going to appear.

Allah Almighty (is) ordering women not to be through (among) men. Women must keep their positions through their homes for looking after their husband and their children, to give good behaviour to their children. (It is) forbidden for women to work outside, but people are not listening (to the) Holy Orders of the Lord of Heavens. (And) it is also (the) same in Christianity as well as in Judaism. In (the) Old (Testament) and (the) New Testament (there is the) same order, but now people (only) follow Sadanas. Ignorance now, it is (a) new fashion- if you are not following Sadanas theories, you are out of this community. They say: "Go away, you are yet living in the time of these people whom they said stories of the old times. Their description or knowledge (is) from Prophets only to say some people; always (these Prophets were) speaking old histories of past time people; (it is) no more (than that)." And we reached now to a position that mankind (is) going to finish.
(The) Heavenly Order (is) coming on earth and making some signs, giving some signals for mankind (to warn them): "O mankind, don't try to trespass!" People (are) getting out too much (of) the(ir) limits, (they) passed more than it is given to them to be, they passed (the) limits that Allah Almighty (was) putting there (a warning, saying):

"Don't pass! After this point, it is forbidden, prohibited! Caution, warning!"

(But) people say: "We are not listening."

You are not listening? Now they (people) are very fearful when (there was the) eclipse of sun. (They are) fearing (now)! Before they said: "No any effect from eclipse on earth", but through (the past) 50 years or (through the) 20th centurythey (could) take enough lessons that (always) something (is) happening after (an) eclipse; moon or sun, but more sun. They tried it.

Now just at the beginning of the Holy Ramadan (there was) coming (an) eclipse of sun. Even in Syria schools (were) closed (down), because (it was) going to be really dark and students may be (harmed)!and just after it happened this earthquake. And (before) another, (a) full moon eclipse (was) coming and coming Tsunami. Just came! "!wa idha biharu-l fujjirat"! and there is "sujjirat" also. (The) Holy Qur'an (is) saying: "(There is) coming on people a time that seas are going to get out and make big waves and rush on continents, on mankind." (And it) happened! Then, 1991 or '95, in August, happened a full eclipse. I prayed hours until (the) eclipse of sun (was) opening; I prayed here with my Derwish people and (it) passed and (it took) so much, so long time. (And there was) coming (an) earthquake, (and) perhaps a half million of people passed away, but (the) government (was) not saying (the truth)! In Turkey (it) happened. They have taken their lessons! Now that happened! (And) now they say (also): "(On the) 29^th of March (there is) going to be (a) full eclipse of sun", and (so) people (are) fearing (now), because (they are) living in concrete buildings. And I am saying: "Come down! Don't go up like Nimrod!" Nimrod built a huge tower.

"O people, you are going up too much, come down!" Everywhere they destroyed (the old houses), but (they are) building buildings and building (them from) concrete blocks and (then they are) coming down (when there is an earthquake)- concrete (is) making them like Capati (Indian flat bread)! In India people in (through) hours (were becoming) like Capati!(the earthquake was) making (the houses) like this, up!(and they are coming down,) because (they are) all concrete buildings! Therefore I am saying to people: "O people, leave that (concrete buildings!) Make mud homes and make them one or two floors (only)."

I am trying to make (here a) new center- from mud. I don't like this (concrete building that they are building next door), but one of our foolish brothers (was) making this (without asking me) (X). I am going up to the mountain to make a mud (center there). If (an earthquake is coming) like this (shaking the houses from the sides), (houses) can't move, (if it is coming) like that (from underground), also never (anything is) happening, (because it is built) with this wooden (construction), not concrete. If anyone (is) coming to make (a) concrete building (there), I am throwing him away: "Go to India, make there concrete building!" Everywhere old cities (are) finished, old villages (are) finished, everyone (is) making homes from concrete blocks. (When they are) falling on them, (they are) making them (to be like) Capati! Now crying people! And before (this happened to the) Iranian people also (in Bam)- (their houses were) falling on them!

You must come back to nature! Now they are coming and saying: "Ehhh!" "What happened?" "You heard about that virus? Bird flue!" "How happening this?" "There is a virus and making this injection to every bird and just all (the) world (is) full with bird flue!"

You think it (this) is a sign of mercy from Heavens? You think by burning birds (you can prevent it)? It is Haram through all Holy Books to burn, you can't even burn one ant! (And they are) burning millions of birds- for nothing, but they are atheist people, (who are) saying: "No God." Astaghfirullah! Allah should punish mankind on earth, and if His Anger (is) coming, He is able to create another virus- for mankind, (so) that through 24 hours never living (even) one (person) on earth- at least half (of the) inhabitants of the world should pass away!

Beware! Come and accept truth! Don't go to be with those foolish and drunk scientists! Listen (to the) heavenly messages, heavenly warning, take care for heavenly caution. If not, no one can save you. If (you are) going to be ????, Sadanas can't do anything. Beware, o people!

May Allah forgive me and bless you! Blessings (are) only coming after (His) Forgiveness. First we must ask forgiveness from our Lord for our wrong ideas, wrong actings against His heavenly Orders. (First) He gives His forgiveness, then (He) blesses you, blesses ourselves. May Allah bless all mankind, for the honour of the most honoured one and most blessed servant in His divine Presence, S.Muhammad sws, Fatiha.
